Wicker Laundry Basket

One of the most versatile things in my home just happens to be a wicker laundry basket. I originally purchased one for the purpose of doing laundry, but as time went on, I found myself buying them for more and more uses. While a wicker laundry basket is not quite as durable as a plastic type, it looks a heck of a lot better, and is easier on my hands when it’s full. Other than the wicker laundry basket I have for laundry, I have one for my daughters bath toys, one for craft supplies, and one for catching odds and ends I can’t seem to find a place for elsewhere. You can also use a wicker laundry basket for storing winter or summer clothing, as a place to store and carry cleaning supplies, and as a homemade sleeping space for cats or small dogs.

The downfall to the wicker laundry basket I have in the bathroom for my daughter’s bath toys is that the bottom tends to rot out after a while. When too much moisture sits in the bottom, it soaks into the wicker and the bottom eventually falls out. I find I have to replace it once every six months, but because I can find such a good deal on them, it’s not too big of a problem.

You can find a wicker laundry basket in just about any color or size you would like. This is great if you want somewhere to keep odds and ends, but don’t know what to do with them. You can buy a small wicker laundry basket in a color to match your décor, and keep it somewhere convenient. Then when you have something you don’t want to throw away, but also don’t know where to put it, you can throw it in the basket for easy access. This works great for things like mail, sunglasses, and wallets.

You may also want to find a hamper to go with your wicker laundry basket. These tend to be sturdy and long lasting.  They are also great for other manners of storage. They can also compliment your décor in a way you never envisioned. They add a homey and outdoorsy feel to your room and your home. Great prices can be found both online and in stores, so go ahead and buy a few pieces of wicker to add function and style to your home.
