Tips For Chosing The Perfect Memory Foam Topper

I bought myself a new bed last year after shopping around for quite some time looking for a very soft mattress. I have had back problems all of my life and cannot sleep very well on hard mattresses. I eventually settled on a pillow top mattress and was quite happy with it. I thought that the mattress was as close to sleeping on a cloud as I was going to get without shelling out big bucks on one of those NASA beds. Then I saw a memory foam topper at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

You can find a memory foam topper at Target, Wal-Mart, and a variety of other retailers. The catch is finding one that is affordable. The topper that Bed, Bath and Beyond carries was one hundred dollars. I spent three hundred dollars on the entire mattress set and I think that memory foam topper was a bit overpriced. I looked around at Wal-Mart and found an affordable topper there but I cannot say that I think it is of the same quality as the more expensive one I mentioned.

Although the softest one I have found is out of my price range, I have not given up the search. What makes a memory foam topper so awesome is the material. Much like the foam used in those NASA beds you see on TV, a memory foam topper is made out of a material that is soft but still resistant. When you lay down on one, you cannot squish the memory foam topper down completely so it will always provide you with cushioning. If I cannot find an affordable one soon, I am going to ask for one for Christmas.

I may or may not be spoiled. I am, however, sure that if I get my hands on a good memory foam topper I will definitely be spoiled. I may never want to leave my bed again. The topper gives you another level of softness that can only be found in very expensive mattresses. If I can forego buying the whole mattress set and simply buy a memory foam topper to get the same effect, I can’t understand why everyone wouldn’t do the same. I am pretty sure that sooner or later I will be able to find one in the fifty dollar range. From that point on, me and my bed will be inseparable and getting up for work everyday will just be all the more difficult.
